Austin SWAT Team Called To North Austin Domestic Disturbance Call
Incident along the 600 block of Barwood Park is unrelated to ongoing serial bombing case police are trying to solve, officer says.

NORTH AUSTIN, TX — Police SWAT team members were called to North Austin late Monday in response to a domestic disturbance during which a man threatened to burn down the residence in which he barricaded himself.
The incident occurred just before 10 p.m. along the 600 block of Barwood Park after a call was made to 911 to report a domestic disturbance. Upon their arrival, police determined the man was armed as he made threats to burn down the apartment complex where he lived. His behavior prompted officials to dispatch SWAT team members to the scene, an officer told reporters in a subsequent press briefing.
After a few hours, the man was detained without incident but not before other residents were evacuated from their homes for their safety, a police officer told reporters.
