Austin's McCaul 2nd Richest in Congress: How They Rank
The representative for Texas' 10th district, which includes North Austin and Pflugerville is worth over $100 million.
U.S. Rep. Michael McCaul, is the second richest member of congress, according to Roll Call’s new Wealth of Congress Index.
McCaul, who represents the 10th congressional district, has a disclosed wealth of $107.61 million. This is the second year in a row that McCaul ranked No. 2. What’s interesting is that out of all of his assets listed, not one is actually in his name. All of his investments are listed under the name of his wife — Linda McCaul, the daughter of Clear Channel Communications founder Lowry Mays — or his children.
McCaul’s wealth comes almost entirely from a huge investment portfolio, which includes traditional stocks and government bonds.
