Bee Cave Road Project To Spark Traffic Cut Off Traffic, Water

AUSTIN, TX — The Texas Department of Transportation will close Camp Craft Road between RM 2244 Bee Cave Road) and Eanes School Road to all traffic staring on Monday, June 3, officials said.

Set to begin at 6 a.m., the closure will be in effect through mid-August to accommodate installation of a waterline and roadway reconstruction. Work is anticipated to occur Monday through Saturday, 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., with some night work expected, TxDot officials said.

Intermittent overnight water outages are likely as new lines are connected, transportation officials added. Property owners and businesses will be contacted prior to any planned outages, TxDot said.

All traffic on Bee Cave Road wishing to access Camp Craft Road will be detoured to Westbank Drive, where drivers can access Camp Craft Road from the south. Drivers who need to access Elsass Academy Westlake and Trinity Episcopal School of Austin will need to do so via Bee Cave Road (see attached map). Access to all other properties and residential streets will be maintained. Camp Craft Road is anticipated to be re-opened to all traffic by mid-August, before the 2019/2020 school year begins, weather permitting.

Road signs have been placed to alert drivers of the closure. TxDOT and the contractor recognize the inconvenience this will cause and are committed to getting the work done quickly and safely.
