Bomb Squad Called To North Austin Neighborhood To Neutralize Suspicious Device
The suspicious implement found along Lamplight Avenue turned out to be a novelty toy hand grenade.

NORTH AUSTIN, TX — A police bomb squad descended on a North Austin neighborhood after a report of a suspicious device on Wednesday that turned out to be a fake hand grenade.
The incident occurred along Lamplight Village Avenue between Magazine Street and Rodeo Drive at around 9 a.m. Police dispatched an explosives-neutralizing robot to remove the novelty grenade, according to Spectrum News and other media outlets.
The roadway was closed off during the investigation before reopening it at around 11:30 a.m.
