Businesses Left Without Gas After Lines Ruptured
Utility workers temporarily shut off gas to at least 19 businesses on Atlanta Street after two lines were inadvertently breached.

NORTH AUSTIN, TX — More than a dozen businesses were left without gas service after construction crews workers inadvertently ruptured two lines on Monday.
Utility workers temporarily shut off gas to at least 19 businesses at 404 Atlanta St. near Veterans Drive after the afternoon rupture, that occurred at around 4 p.m. Crews also shut down two eastbound lanes of Lake Austin Boulevard along with access to southbound MoPac Boulevard from Lake Lake Austin Boulevard before reopening the arteries to traffic access.
Update Hazmat Taskforce. Firefighters report that there were actually 2 gas lines hit. They have shut off the smaller one but worki on the larger one has required the shut down of two lanes of Eastbound Lake Austin and access to Mopac Southbound at Lake Austin.
