Cable Outage Disables City Phones, Internet At Pflugerville City Hall [UPDATE]

PFLUGERVILLE, TX -- City officials have identified the source of a cable line break that has disabled municipal phones and Internet access Thursday morning.

The city's 911 service and police department phones are unaffected by the outage, city officials said.

The break occurred at the SH 130 northbound access road after a traffic-related incident. City officials note the artery has been reduced to one lane, and motorists can expect delays as a result.

As for city phones and cable, crews are working to restores the service as soon as possible. In the meantime, residents requiring immediate assistance are advised to call the police hotline at (512) 251-4004.

PFLUGERVILLE -- A cable outage has cut off city telephone lines and Internet access, municipal officials said Thursday morning.

The city uses a company called Suddenlink for its city phones and Internet service, according to the advisory. On its website, the company is described as the nation's seventh-largest cable operator serving 1.4 million customers.

City officials stressed the city's 911 service has not been affected by the outage. Police department phones also are unaffected, city officials add.

Residents requiring immediate assistance but unable to reach the city can, for the meantime, call the police hotline at (512) 251-4004.
