Central Texas Lip Sync Battle Continues To Heat Up

PFLUGERVILLE, TX — That lip sync battle among law enforcement agencies continues to heat up.

Pflugerville Police Chief Jessica Robledo and some of her officers recently entered the musical fray, starting with a little "Funky Town," which would be spelled as "Pfunky Town" given the origin of its locale.

For some time now, law enforcement agencies from across the state have been challenging themselves to a bit of lip sync battle in what's turned out to be a fun exercise not just for them but observers as well. The video have shown a softer, human side to cops who are, at the end of the day, just like us but without all the police gear.

Robledo and some of her officers showed their lip sync game on YouTube.

But Robledo has displayed some real singing chops in the past. Check her out belting out the song "Suavemente," by Puerto Rican merengue singer Elvis Crespo at a recent karaoke session.

With that performance, Robledo emerged as something of a trend-setter as she challenged others to match her singing prowess before the current lip sync battle took hold.
