Here’s a handy guide to help you have the best time at the 8th annual Pflugerville Chili Pfest.

The chili festival is held in downtown Pflugerville. Shuttle buses will be taking people to the festival from Pflugerville High School, located at 1301 W Pecan St. Parking at the high school will be free. The festival’s competition cooks will be set up along Main Street between 2nd and 3rd streets.

Noon – Event Begins, Vendor sales until 5 p.m.
All Day: Man Cave and Football Viewing (Hanovers); Heat Wave car show; Kids’ Zone – Free activities, bounce houses, arts-n-crafts.
Noon - 2:30 p.m. Live music: Scottish Thunder (stage)
Noon – 3 p.m. Let’s Taste Chili (Tasting cups $5 for 20)
Noon – 5 p.m. Heat Wave car show (Main and Third St.)
3 p.m. Voting ends for People’s Choice Chili Contest
3-3:30 p.m. Jalapeño Eating Contest (in front of stage)
4 p.m. Chili Cook-off Awards (stage)
4:50 p.m. Lone Star Dancers: “Zombie Thriller”
5 p.m. Event ends

How much?

Just $5 gets you sampling cups for 20 different varieties of chili. Be sure to give your chili tickets to your favorite chefs to determine the people’s choice winner.
