City Offers Pflugerville Public Works Department Tours
In observance of 'National Public Works Week,' members of the public can get a glimpse of the department's inner workings on Friday.

PFLUGERVILLE, TX — In observance of National Public Works Week, the department in Pflugerville will open its doors to the public on Friday to give the public a glimpse of the work staff perform.
The public works open house is scheduled at the Pflugerville Public Works Department, 15500 Sun Light Near Way, B, on Friday, May 25, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. It will consist of tours of the department, according to information on the municipal website.
"National Public Works Week is a celebration of the tens of thousands of men and women in North America who provide and maintain the infrastructure and services collectively known as public works," local officials wrote in announcing the event. "This year’s theme 'The Power of Public Works' gives voice to the impact that public works has on modern civilization."

Those attending the event will discover how public works helps to maintain the city of Pflugerville. "Climb aboard the equipment we use, learn about the water cycle and recycling," officials wrote. "Come see how we operate and provide over 1 million gallons of water a day to the Pflugerville community."
Included in the tour will be a stop at the newly constructed Public Works Facility Maintenance Building which will be open to the public.
