Why was this study completed? It was authorized by City Council in July to further explore options for emergency medical service following Travis County ESD No. 2 notifying the City that due to a funding shortage they would be ending ambulance service at the end of 2021. City Council remains committed to ensuring Pflugerville residents and the ETJ receive quality and fiscally responsible ambulance service and in addition to this study has begun negotiations with Acadian Ambulance Service to prevent any potential lapse in services.
