Starting this week, you may see our contractor in your neighborhood installing new water meter registers as a part of our Automated Meter Infrastructure (AMI) project. The installation of these registers is the first step towards the implementation of this new system, which we anticipate will be available to all Pflugerville water customers by the end of 2022. Depending on the age of your current equipment, not all Pflugerville water customers will have to have a new register installed. Want to see if your water meter register is being replaced? Visit our map here.

When implemented, the AMI project will help our water customers have more information and control over their water usage, with the ability to set custom alerts if a certain gallon usage is reached or if instantaneous water usage seems abnormally high. In addition, the software includes technology for city staff to improve leak detection and help customers troubleshoot over the phone rather than having to wait for an on-site technician. Stay tuned for more information as we roll out the equipment and software associated with this project. If you have questions, visit pflugervilletx.gov/ami.
