🌱 COVID-19 Business Signs + Good Samaritan Killed + Winter Preps

Although Austin counties ordered businesses to "post signs declaring what COVID-19 safety measures they are taking," some of them are not complying, but "others have no problem sharing their protocols with customers." Blyth DelBene, owner of CrossFit 3 Strands gym said, "I think we have to all do what's best for all of us as a society to get through this as best as we can...So, if (putting up signs is) going to help other people to make the best decision to whether to enter certain establishments, then it's just an extra level of communication for people."   2. On Sunday, Feb. 20 "a driver who stopped at the scene of a crash in north Austin was hit and killed as they tried to help." The accident occurred around 4 a.m. in the 1100 block of E. Anderson Lane. The person who stopped to help was hit by a 3rd vehicle and immediately died at the scene, according to police. The area at US 183 near Cameron Road was closed during that time due to the crash and traffic was detoured to the access road. For details on the tragedy visit: (KXAN.com)
  3. On Feb. 15 of last year, "the Texas power grid was four minutes and 37 seconds away from completely collapsing." That event "would have triggered a 'black start' and it "would have taken months to mend Texas' electric infrastructure, and left millions without power for just as long."
