Daylight Saving Time 2015: Precisely When It Will Get Dark in North Austin-Pflugerville

You're about to notice it getting dark earlier.

Leaving work when it’s already dark is depressing.

And unfortunately it’s about to happen a lot more often soon.

Daylight saving time 2015 ends at 2 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 1, which means you’ll want to turn your clocks back by an hour before you go to bed Saturday night, Oct. 31.

“Spring forward, fall back,” the old adage goes.

Daylight saving time is the practice of setting the clocks forward one hour from Standard Time during the summer months, and back again in the fall,to make better use of natural daylight.

But daylight saving time ending isn’t bad news for the early risers out there. Sunrise will be about an hour earlier and there will be more light in the mornings.

The day before daylight saving time serves as an excellent reminder to change the batteries in your smoke alarms, according to the Austin Fire Department.
