AUSTIN, TX — The body of a dead man was found atop a working conveyer belt at a northeast Austin recycling center early Wednesday, sheriff's officials said.

Travis County Sheriff's Office spokesperson Kristen Dark told Patch the body was found by employees of a recycling center at 9301 Johnny Morris Rd. as they arrived to work in the early morning hours. She said investigators believe the body had been transported to the site from another location.

The man's age and race was not disclosed. Dark said the sheriff's office received a 9-1-1 call reporting the grisly discovery by recycling center worker at around 1:30 a.m.
