Police ID Man Found Dead In North Austin Parking Lot [UPDATED]

Jose Angel Moreno, 25, is the 12th homicide victim of the year so far in Austin, police said.

North Austin, TX -- Police on Monday released the identity of a man found dead in a parking lot over the weekend who is the 12th homicide victim of the year in Austin.

The man was identified as Jose Angel Moreno, 25. Police have not been able to locate a suspect since the killing.

Police responded to Interstate 35 near Middle Lane, just south of East Rundberg Lane, at about 3:30 a.m. this past Saturday. There, they found Moreno's body with obvious trauma, and pronounced him dead at the scene.

North Austin, TX -- The death of a man in a parking lot Saturday morning is now being investigated as a homicide, police said.

Law enforcement officials responded to an emergency call at about 3:30 a.m. on Saturday to report a man with obvious trauma, the Austin American-Statesman reported. The man was pronounced dead at the scene, located at the Interstate 35 service road near Middle Lane. The area is just south of East Rundberg Lane.

Police didn't disclose the name of the deceased, but did say the death represents the 12th homicide so far this year. A suspect has not been arrested.
