'Don't Advertise Your New Holiday Gifts On The Curb,' Cops Warn
If you're not careful, empty boxes from new electronics and expensive items could attract a Grinch.

PFLUGERVILLE, TX - Did you get a new flat screen television, computer or some other cool gadget for for Christmas? Want to announce the new goodies you've received to burglars? Of course, you don't! However, you could very well be doing just that if you put your recycling out on the curb.
The Pflugerville Police Department is warning residents to avoid advertising their new holiday gifts by placing them on the side of the street for garbage collection. While it's an innocent move, police say it could attract the wrong kind of attention.
"Make sure you're cutting up the boxes and putting them in your recycle cart. You don't want to be showing off the new electronics you received by displaying the box on your curb," the police department posted on its official Facebook page.
