eBay Renews Lease At 7700 Parmer High Tech Office Park In North Austin

The e-commerce company's lease renewal for 214,000 square feet helps solidify site's status as premier high-tech hub.

NORTH AUSTIN, TX — The e-commerce firm eBay has renewed its lease on office space at 7700 Parmer, a high technology office park located in Northwest Austin, officials said.

“eBay, a trailblazing global leader in e-commerce, is a core tenant that has brought energy and innovation to this amenity-rich, collaborative office campus,” said Michael Adams, asset manager for Accesso Partners, LLC. of Hallandale Beach, Fla. which owns 7700 Parmer Lane.

The lease is for 214,000 square feet of space at 7700 Parmer, officials said. Terms of the lease weren't disclosed for proprietary reasons.

The surroundings complement the ambiance preferred at high-tech firms, including audio-video equipped auditorium, a 540-seat gourmet cafeteria operated by Bon Appetit, full-service fitness center, wooded jogging trail, baseball and soccer fields, basketball and volleyball courts plus Stepping Stone School, and an accredited private preschool which also recently renewed its 12,326 square foot lease at 7700 Parmer.

"We’re seeing interest in North Austin and 7700 Parmer not just from the high technology icons of Silicon Valley but from small to medium-sized companies in other US cities who are also moving or expanding here,” Adams told GlobeSt.com, a commercial real estate news portal. “The ‘ we-can-make-it-happen' creative mindset, the risk taking environment, deep, talented labor pools and the work hard, play hard mentality is driving North Austin’s growth in this sector today. Fortunately, we have the assets and acreage here to capture an increasing share of that market.”

David Putman, Bart Matheney and Ben Tolson, principals of Aquila Commercial, LLC, Austin, represented Accesso Partners. Simon Clark, Jerry Frey and Burke Kennedy of CBRE in Palo Alto, CA represented eBay in the transaction.

Adams said Accesso is planning to expand the Class A, 129-acre high tech office campus by developing a new 214,000 square foot building and parking structure. When completed, 7700 Parmer will have 1.2 million rentable square feet.

Other tenants at 7700 Parmer include Google, Oracle, PayPal, Electronic Arts, Polycom, Deloitte and Dun & Bradstreet. Occupancy at the high tech office park currently stands at 95.5%, officials noted.
