Family Makes Video Asking North Austin Target Not to Close
The family says they have a lot of precious memories at the North Austin Target.
NORTH AUSTIN, TX - A North Austin family made a video in hopes of convincing the local super Target to stay open.
The Target told the family the store is one of a dozen that will be closing across the country, and the only one in Texas. They said they make these decisions based on long-term profitability.

“I’ve been shopping here with my Dad and my family for my whole life,” 9-year-old Sullivan Brown said in the video.
Sullivan’s Mom, Jill Leberknight, said she even spent the night before her son was born at the superstore for her and her husband’s “last date night.”

“It was almost like the rite of passage, you go out and start thinking, ‘Oh, this is the last night in a while that we will be out till 9 o’clock, last time we will be shopping without a young person coming along making cereal decisions,’” Damon Brown, Sullivan’s Dad, told KVUE.
The family is asking what they can do to keep their favorite store from closing.
The location is set to close Jan. 30, KVUE reported. The company wrote on social media that eligible store team members are being given the option to transfer to nearby Targets.
