Firefighters Battle North Austin Fire Amid Snow Flurries
Crews made quick work of the blaze at 12018 Swallow Dr., but marveled at the sight of snow flurries at fire scene.

NORTH AUSTIN, TX — Firefighters made quick work of a house fire in the northwest part of the city Thursday evening.
The blaze along the 12000 block of Swallow Drive was reported just before 6 p.m. There were no reports of injuries, and the cause of the fire wasn't disclosed.
Fighting such fires is old hat to firefighters. But it was the snowy backdrop of the day that didn't escape mention by fire officials after the fire was put out. Snow is relatively rare in Central Texas, and the sight wasn't lost on firefighters.

"Rare site in Austin," fire officials noted on Twitter. "Fighting fire in the snow at 12018 Swallow."
