Firefighters Respond To Blaze At North Austin Salvage Yard
Quick action of firefighters to extinguish flames at 607 Farley Dr. contained fire in preventing it from reaching adjacent building.

NORTH AUSTIN, TX — Austin Fire Department emergency crews extinguished a fire that broke out at a North Austin salvage yard early Saturday.
The blaze that erupted at the site located on 607 Farley Dr. engulfed two scrap cars, but was quickly extinguished. No one was injured as a result of the conflagration.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.

To the untrained eye or casual observer, the fire seems a minor fire event that was quickly and easily handled. But were it not for the quick action of firefighters, the flames could have easily reached the adjacent structure at the the salvage yard. The administrator of the Austin Fire Department's Facebook page noted the readiness of its emergency workers with dramatic video snippets from the scene.
