Six Injured, One Dead After Car-Motorcycle Collisions

All vehicle occupants expected to survive, but motorcyclist in his 50s pronounced dead at the scene.

NORTH AUSTIN, TX -- Emergency crews responded to a pair of collisions that each involved a vehicle and motorcycle Friday morning that left one person dead and four others injured.

The first collision at the 10100 block of FM 2222 Road occurred at about 8 a.m. A man in his 50s was pronounced dead at the scene and the pair of occupants in the vehicle were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Motorists are being urged to avoid the area as police continue their investigation and the road is cleared.

Another car-versus-motorcycle collision occurred a short time later at about 9 a,m. near the intersection of FM 2222 at Jester Boulevard.

In the second crash, Austin-Travis County EMS said some of the occupants of the vehicle were pinned to their vehicle, causing delays in their rescue.

In the end, first responders transported four people to the hospital with injuries that are not expected to be life-threatening.

The road also is being cleared post-accident, and motorists are advised to expect delays.
