Fur Really Flies In North Austin Fire Rescue
Firefighters respond Saturday amid call of victim reported as helpless as kitten up a tree that was, in fact, a kitty up a tree.

NORTH AUSTIN, TX — Fire officials were called to Northeast Austin Saturday morning to assist a victim reported to be as helpless as a kitten up a tree. The victim was, in fact, a kitten up a tree.
It was a cat, actually. Firefighters at Station 14 on Airport Boulevard near the Mueller housing development were dispatched to assist the cat stuck high in the tree branches while in "obvious distress," officials said on Twitter.
The cat was no stray, but known in the neighborhood. Its collar alerted fire officials they wouldn't be dealing with a feral cat but an established member of the community. So firefighters commandeered a tall ladder in an "old school" rescue of the hapless rescue.
