GoFundMe Drive Launched For Austin Boy Attacked For His Backpack
Dane Brown, 12, was left with facial injuries after a man is said to have punched him when the victim refused to hand over his backpack.

NORTH AUSTIN, TEXAS — The Austin Justice Coalition is raising funds for a boy who was attacked after a man accosted him while demanding his backpack last month, officials said.
The 12-year-old boy, Dane Brown, was waiting for his school bus to arrive last month at the 12100 block of Walnut Park Crossing when a man emerged, demanding his backpack. When the boy refused, the man is said to have punched Brown several times in the face. The boy was left with several wounds to his face, including a gouge on his forehead.
The GoFundMe campaign is aimed at assisting the boy's mother, Andrea Lockhart, and the boy on a number of fronts, Austin Justice Coalition officials said.
