High Winds Contribute To North Austin House Fire
Firefighters had a difficult time extinguishing a recent fire on East Howard Lane due to powerful winds that served to whip up the flames.

PFLUGERVILLE, TX — High winds contributed to the spread of a weekend fire that destroyed a home and two sheds, fire officials said.
The blaze was sparked along the 4700 block of East Howard Lane, just west of Texas 130 on Friday. Firefighters found their work to extinguish the flames was challenging due to high winds and downed power lines.
Three people reportedly were inside the house when the fire broke out but exited the structure unharmed. All told, four occupants were displaced as a result of the fire. The American Red Cross stepped in to help the displaced residents find temporary lodging while repairs are made to the home.
