Horse Dies, Rider Seriously Injured After Being Struck By Car In North Austin
The incident occurred just after 9:30 p.m. along the 5200 block of East Parmer Lane, according to emergency officials.

NORTH AUSTIN, TX -- A horse was killed and his rider hospitalized with life-threatening conditions after being hit by a car over the weekend, according to emergency officials.
Austin-Travis County EMS reported a rider was hit by a vehicle on Saturday evening in the 5200 block of East Parmer Lane. The incident occurred just after 9:30 p.m., EMS officials said.
The horse died at the scene, while its rider was transported to University Medical Center Brackenridge with critical injuries, EMS officials said.

There was no word about what may have caused the crash or if the driver was cited by police.
