Houndstooth Coffee Opens North Austin Café Location​

NORTH AUSTIN, TX — Officials of Texas-based business Houndstooth Coffee on Monday announced the opening of a new café at Rock Rose in North Austin.

Located at 11501 Rock Rose Ave, Ste. 118, the café comes on the heels of recent openings for Houndstooth, with a location in East Austin and a solar-powered version in the Walnut Hill neighborhood in Dallas opening in the past year.

"We’re excited to host North Austin guests at our new location and looking forward to welcoming new guests into the “Pattern of Coffee & People,” General Manager, Paul Henry said in a prepared statement. “Rock Rose is a unique place for food and drink in Austin, and we’re ready to share better coffee with more people."

The new café will offer Houndstooth Coffee’s signature menu of coffee, teas, handcrafted espresso beverages, a selection of beers and wines, as well as cocktails, officials said. Guests will be greeted by familiar design elements and inspiration pulled from Houndstooth’s six current cafes and sister cocktail bar, Jettison, which is located in Dallas, officials added.

A blend between the company’s first café (located on N Lamar Blvd) and Jettison, this café’s bar area will offer a fluid space for barista to guest interaction and education. Rainbow tile patterning, inspired by Houndstooth’s Dallas Walnut Hill cafe, offers a fresh visual, and community tables and bench seating keep the guest space engaging and interactive, officials described.

Houndstooth has partnered with general contracting company Chioco Development, LLC and interior designer Kasey McCarty for the build-out and design of the space, according to a press advisory.

The Rock Rose café joins three existing Austin shops located at 4200 N Lamar Blvd., Ste. 120, 401 Congress Ave, Ste. 100C, and the most recently opened shop at 2823 E. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Suite 105. Houndstooth Coffee also has three locations in Dallas.
