Ice Cream Vendor Shot In North Austin Dies At Hospital
Ice cream vendor Adeliado Berna Beurias, 68, was a well-known fixture in the area before being confronted by 3 men during a robbery attempt.
AUSTIN, TX — An ice cream vendor shot during a robbery in North Austin last week has died, police said on Thursday.
Adeliado Berna Beurias, 68, died while hospitalized after being shot on June 23 at around 3:10 p.m. at a Serene Park Apartments parking lot on Northgate Boulevard, police said in an advisory. A well-known fixture as he peddled his ice cream treats, Beurias was pushing his cart through the complex when he was confronted by three men, police said. One of the suspects shot Beurias as the men tried robbing him before fleeing the scene, police added.
Medics rushed Beurias to an area hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries before he died of his wounds just after 5 p.m. on Wednesday, according to the police advisory, officials said.

The three suspects are still at large, police said.
