Latest Rock Throwing on I-35 in North Austin Injures 1
More than 40 rocks have been thrown at cars on I-35 in the past year.

The latest rock throwing on Interstate 35 left a passenger injured early Sunday morning.
A car traveling northbound on the 9000 block of I-35 near East Rundberg Lane was struck by a rock thrown through the windshield, hitting and injuring a passenger in the vehicle, reported the Austin American-Statesman. The passenger suffered minor injuries but refused to be taken to the hospital, a spokesman with Austin / Travis County EMS told the Statesman.
Police have not yet identified a suspect or witnesses, reported the Statesman.

There have already been more than 10 reported cases of rock-throwing incidents this year, and 40 since last year. This incident occurred outside of the area along I-35 between Dean Keeton and 45th Street, which police identified as a target zone for their investigation, reported the Austin American-Statesman.
Austin police have asked anyone struck by a rock while driving to not wait until arriving at their destination to contact police. Call 911 immediately so officers can respond. Police also ask that people do not handle any evidence so it can be processed by APD.
