🌱 Lockhart Lions Set Records + Panthers Cheerleaders Top Prize

The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in North Austin-Pflugerville.

Good morning, people of North Austin-Pflugerville! It's me again, Gabriela Couvillion, your host of the North Austin-Pflugerville Daily.


First, today's weather:

Here are the top stories in North Austin-Pflugerville today:

  1. On Wednesday, Feb. 9, "Coach Josh Gilbert's Lockhart Lions set several personal records" during the Pflugerville Powerlifting Meet. On Saturday, Feb. 12, the team traveled to Smithville, and they're getting "closer to qualifying for Regionals in March."   2. This weekend there are lots of fun things to do in Pflugerville and surrounding areas for the whole family! Some of them include "visiting a local barbecue, burger or brunch joint; spending happy hour at a nearby eatery; watching the Olympics at a local sports bar; and finding a volunteering opportunity to get involved and give back."   3. This past weekend, the Pflugerville High School Panthers cheerleading team received the top prize during the "Cheer America Cheer Nationals" held in Galveston, Texas. "THE ONE Cheer and Finals consists of five regional competitions" and the "winners qualify for the virtual national championship this summer to compete for 'The ONE Champion.'" The Panthers placed first in the small varsity division and earned the Grand Champion title in the school division and will be going "to the invite-only THE ONE Cheer and Dance Finals in the spring."
