Man Arrested After Taking $135K Mercedes-Benz From North Austin Car Lot
Mark Ricketts, 46, faces felony theft charge after taking the car before entering a strip club.

NORTH AUSTIN, TX — A man accused of taking a Mercedes-Benz valued at more than $135,000 from a North Austin car dealership and drove it toward a strip club was arrested, according to an arrest affidavit.
Mark Edward Ricketts, 46, felony theft charge after driving the luxury car to get to the Yellow Rose strip club at 6528 N. Lamar Blvd., the Austin American-Statesman reported, citing an arrest affidavit. Employees of the dealership followed the man to the establishment, alerting police who then reported to the scene at about 7:30 p.m. last Friday.
Once there, police found the missing Mercedes-Benz AMG GT, a car priced at $135,860 parked nearby. According to the affidavit, employees at the dealership heard the car being started at about 6:30 p.m. before they saw it being driven away, the Statesman noted.

After abandoning the car, the man went to the Yellow Rose, where he was taken into custody. He was subsequently booked into the Travis County Jail under a $50,000 bond.
