Man Dies After Being Shot Outside The Domain Shopping Mall

Shooting took place in parking lot fronting Dick's Sporting Goods​ just before 5 p.m. leading to hospitalization of victim who later died.

NORTH AUSTIN, TX — A man died after being shot in a parking lot at The Domain on Tuesday afternoon, police said.

The shooting took place in the shopping mall parking lot fronting Dick's Sporting Goods just before 5 p.m., according to the Austin American-Statesman. According to witnesses, the victim was inside a car and the suspect fled in another vehicle, the report indicates. As of early Wednesday, police had not disclosed whether they have a suspect in the shooting.

The victim initially was rushed to St. David's Round Rock Medical Center with critical, life-threatening injuries, Austin-Travis County EMS officials wrote in a tweet. According to the newspaper report, the man was still conscious and able to communicate with them when they encountered him.

EMS medics placed the location of the incident at 11300 Domain Drive, but police reported it as being along the 3200 block of Kramer Lane.

Police urge anyone with information related to identity of the shooter to contact them, noting tipsters are eligible for a reward of up to $1,000 if their anonymous tip leads to an arrest. Those with information are urged to call Crime Stoppers at 512-472-8477 or use the “P3 Tips” smartphone app to leave an anonymous tip.
