Man Dies After Collision With Capital Metro Bus In North Austin

The victim, a man in his 60s, was pinned inside his vehicle before medics were able to transport him to the hospital.

NORTH AUSTIN, TX -- A man died Saturday after being pinned in his car after crashing with a Capital Metro bus in northeast Austin.

The man was transported to the hospital after the collision that occurred close to 12:30 p.m. in the 4600 block of Pecan Brook Drive, according to Austin-Travis County EMS officials. The victim is a man believed to be in his 60s, EMS officials said.

Six passengers were on the bus at the time of the collision, and one was taken to St. David's Hospital for treatment of minor injuries, EMS officials said.

Pecan Brook Drive was closed for an extended period of time while the crash was being investigated. The identity of the deceased man has not been disclosed.
