Irwin said medics attempted to perform life-saving measures before transporting the victim to the hospital. However, the man was pronounced dead shortly after being admitted.
As is normally the case in the preliminary stages of an investigation, not many details were made available. Irwin said attempts were being made to find as suspect and the name of the victim wouldn't be released until his family could first be notified of his death.

Irwin noted the case appears to be an isolated case — police nomenclature meaning the suspect and victim likely knew each other — and the public at large was not believed to be in danger. Still, Irwin urged residents to remain vigilant.
Patch will provide more details as they are made available.
