Police ID Man Killed In Northeast Austin Traffic Accident
Abraham Aguilar-Diaz, 25, was extricated from the wreckage of his vehicle but succumbed to his injuries after reaching the hospital.

North Austin, TX -- Police identified the victim of a fatal traffic accident involving three vehicles on Wednesday.
Abraham Aguilar-Diaz, 25, was killed after a traffic accident on the U.S. 290 service road near Harris Branch Parkway that happened shortly after 3 p.m. on Wednesday. Austin-Travis County EMS medics extricated the man from the wreckage of his vehicle before transporting him to University Medical Center Brackenridge, where he later died.
A preliminary police investigation indicates a 1997 green Honda Civic the victim was driving was travelling southbound on Harris Branch Parkway ran red light at the East U.S. Highway 290 service road. A 2013 blue trash truck was traveling eastbound on the highway service road in the outside lane, and struck the right side of the Honda, police said.

Police said alcohol is not believed to have been a contributing factor in the incident. A third car was indirectly involved in the crash, but sustained minimal damage, police previously said.

Police noted the traffic death marked the 33rd traffic fatality this year.

North Austin, TX -- A man critically injured after a wreck on U.S. 290 service road on Wednesday has died in the hospital, police said.
Austin-Travis County EMS medics said the male victim in his 20s had been pinned in his car after the three-vehicle crash and was transported to University Medical Center Brackenridge with critical injuries.
Police later confirmed the man had died at the hospital.
The traffic fatality occurred shortly after 3 p.m. on the service road near Harris Branch Parkway.
EMS medics said the driver in the other vehicle involved in the crash declined treatment. A third vehicle was peripherally involved, sustaining minimal damage
