Man Fleeing DPS Trooper Dies in Crash
A man who lost control of his vehicle while being chased by a DPS officer died after crashing into a pickup truck.

A man fleeing a stop by a Department of Public Safety officer died after losing control of his car and crashing into a pickup truck Sunday night.
The crash occurred in the intersection of North Lamar Boulevard and Kramer Lane, DPS spokeswoman Robbie Barrera told Patch. At 11:11 p.m. a DPS trooper called in a stop on North Lamar when the driver pulled a U-turn and started driving away from the officer. The driver then lost control of the vehicle before Kramer Lane, and skidded into the intersection, crashing into a pickup truck. The driver died instantly, officials said.
The driver of the pickup truck was taken to University Medical Center Breckenridge with non life-threatening injuries, Barrera said. There was a passenger in the pickup truck who was uninjured.
