AUSTIN, TX — Police on Thursday provided details on a bomb hoax the night before centered on a bus stop in North Austin.

The incident occurred at around 9:07 p.m. on Dec. 11, when officers responded to the Walmart at 1030 Norwood Park Blvd. A store employee reported seeing a man building a bomb before the male left the store and began walking towards a nearby bus stop, police said in a press advisory.

Patrol officers upon arrival searched the parking lot and the bus stop before locating the suspect, Timothy Selmon, 33, on the bus where they detained him there. Police then observed a device where Selmon had been sitting, officials said.
