A man is facing 20 years in prison for attempting to kidnap two Pflugerville girls on the way to school in 2013.

During Johnson’s trial earlier this month, witnesses said Johnson approached the girls on a hike-and-bike trail on Quiet Water Pass and put his hand on the older girl’s shoulder. When the girl told Johnson they had to go to school, he put his mouth over her hand and a struggle occurred. The girls managed to get free and run to school where they alerted staff.

When police took him in for questioning, Johnson confessed to the incident and another attempted kidnapping. Johnson also admitted he was having “sexual fantasies” shortly before the attempted kidnappings.

During the trial Travis County prosecutors Jeremy Sylestine and Victoria Winkeler said Johnson’s intentions were “crystal clear.”

“He might be the worst attempted aggravated kidnapper there is, but all we have to show you is that he did do it,” Sylestine said.
