Mike Siegel Gets Texas 10th Congressional District Democratic Nod
He next will face Republican incumbent U.S. Rep. Michael McCaul after landslide victory over Democratic rival Tawana Walter-Cadien.

AUSTIN, TX — Mike Siegel was elected as the Democratic nominee for the 10th congressional district of Texas on Tuesday, besting challenger Tawana Walter-Cadien by a landslide.
With nearly all (80 percent) precincts reporting just before 11 p.m., Siegel had two/tenths of a percentage point shy of 70 percent of the vote to 30.2 percent garnered by Walter-Cadien, as reported by the Texas secretary of state.
Siegel now will face the Republican incumbent for the U.S. House seat, U.S. Rep. Michael McCaul, in the November general election.

“I am honored to be the candidate of working Texans, fighting for health care, good-paying jobs, public education and a dignified retirement,” Siegel said in an emailed prepared statement. “This seat belongs to the people of the Texas 10th and I am committed to running an inclusive campaign that models what real representation looks like. We deserve a congressperson who will protect our families and communities, instead of the needs of wealthy special interests.”
