- "Message from the Pflugerville Fire Department: Don't Let Your Dinner Turn Into a 911 Call! We responded to a cooking fire recently, and the images show how quickly a kitchen fire can spread with costly damage and potential injury or even worse, loss of life. Unattended cooking is the no. 1 cause of cooking fires. Our best advice is to always stay in the kitchen when cooking. We understand life happens so if you must leave the kitchen, even for a second, make sure to take something with you (like a wooden spoon or an oven mitt) so you do not get distracted and forget you are cooking."
