Police Provide More Details On Motorcyclist Who Fell To Her Death From North Austin Highway
The incident occurred near the U.S. 290 and Interstate 35 interchange on Wednesday afternoon, prompting street closure.

NORTH AUSTIN, TX — Police on Monday released more details into the death of a woman who fell to her death from an elevated roadway after losing control of her motorcycle last week.
On Feb. 22 at about 3:15 p.m., a woman traveling westbound along the 6100 block of East U.S. Highway 290 on a Kawasaki motorcycle took the exit ramp to southbound Interstate 35. But she lost control on the ramp, striking the concrete side barrier on the right side of the highway, causing her to fall onto Koenig Lane.
The unidentified motorcyclist, a Hispanic female, was pronounced dead at the scene.

NORTH AUSTIN, TX — A woman was killed Wednesday afternoon after she drove her motorcycle off an elevated roadway, officials said.
Medics with the Austin-Travis County EMS rushed to the scene, only to find the woman dead from injuries sustained after falling to her death near the U.S. 290 and Interstate 35 interchange. The incident occurred at about 3:15 p.m. along the 900 block of East Koenig Lane.

The area around the site was closed to traffic while police conduct their investigation, including Koenig Lane and the eastbound U.S. 290 lanes to southbound I-35. Motorists would be well advised to avoid the area as protracted traffic delays are likely.
