Motorcyclist Killed On Pflugerville Road After Colliding With Semi-Trailer Amid Fog

The victim is a man believed to be in his 40s who was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Austin-Travis County EMS officials.

PFLUGERVILLE, TX — A motorcyclist was killed early Monday after being pinned under a semi-truck trailer amid foggy morning conditions, officials said.

The victim, a man believed to be in his 40s, was hit by the big rig along the 18600 block of North Heatherwilde Boulevard near SH 45, according to Austin-Travis County EMS officials. Pflugerville police told reporters weather might have contributed, as foggy conditions may have shrouded the motorcyclist from the driver of the semi-trailer.

The artery where the death occurred has been an area of concern given increasingly heavy traffic. In February, city officials launched a widening project for the road scheduled to be completed by next spring.
