Motorcylist Dies In North Austin Wreck
Police said Rocky Anthony Bell, 32, was riding a stolen motorcycle when he hit a barricade and was ejected from the vehicle.
AUSTIN, TX — A man riding a stolen motorcycle was killed when he struck a barrier and fell to the ground below in North Austin over the weekend.
The incident occurred on Saturday, April 11, at 11:45 p.m. along the 8000 block of Research Boulevard, according to a police news release. Police learned a stolent red 2002 Honda motorcycle was traveling northbound on the inside lane when the rider lost control and struck a barrier separating the north and south lanes.
The collision caused the rider to be ejected from the motorcycle before he was thrown to the ground below, police said. The motorcyclist, who was dead at the scene, was identified as 32-year-old Rocky Anthony Bell.

The incident marked Austin’s 26th fatal traffic crash of 2020, police said, resulting in 28 fatalities this year. At this time in 2019, police added, there were 18 traffic fatalities.
