Naked Man Arrested for Lighting Fire in North Austin Field

The man seen running from the scene of the fire has been charged with arson.

A naked man was arrested on suspicion of setting a grass fire in the 500 block of Middle Lane.

Austin city firefighters were dispatched to the scene of the fire, which was burning in a 20-by-50-foot area field of grass Monday afternoon. Trees in the area also caught fire and flames were seen up to 10-feet high, police told KVUE. While firefighters responded, a caller told police a naked man was running from the scene of the fire.

Police found the man, now identified at Daniel Marquez Solis, 35, about 1,000 feet west of the fire. He was completely naked and had only a lighter, IDs that did not belong to him and women’s underwear in his possession, police said. Police said Solis appeared intoxicated when officers found him.
