One Of Two North Austin Chemical Spills Prompts Evacuations
Unknown chemical spilled along 4100 block of Duval Road preceded another spill along 38th Street the same day, officials said.

NORTH AUSTIN, TX — About 50 people were evacuated from a North Austin building Wednesday morning after a chemical spill, fire officials said.
The spill was reported along the 4100 block of Duval Road just after 9 a.m.. The type of hazardous materials spilled has yet to be disclosed, but firefighters said no injuries resulted.
Later in the day, Austin-Travis County EMS officials reported a second chemical spill at 900 W. 38th Street, also in North Austin. That subsequent spill was reported to have originated at a medical facility, but no injuries or evacuations emerged as a result.
