North Austin Pedestrian Hit By Car Has Died (Updated)
Man in his 40s critically injured after being struck early Tuesday along the 1000 block of West Parmer Lane at around 2:10 a.m. later died.

UPDATE: Police on Tuesday afternoon said a pedestrian who was critically inured after being struck by a car in North Austin has died from his injuries.
The incident occurred along the 1000 block of Parmer Lane at around 2:11 a.m. on Tuesday when the victim was struck by a vehicle. Austin-Travis County EMS medics rushed the man to Round Rock Hospital for medical treatment, saying via Twitter he sustained critical injuries that were deemed life-threatening.
In an Austin Police Department statement at around 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, officials confirmed the man died of his injuries. Police noted the driver of the vehicle that hit the man remained on the scene and cooperated with their investigation.

The circumstances of the death are still being investigated, police said. A description and age of the victim was not disclosed.

NORTH AUSTIN, TEXAS — A pedestrian was left with life-threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle in North Austin early Tuesday.
Austin-Travis County EMS said via Twitter the man in his 40s was struck at the 1000 block of West Parmer Lane at around 2:10 a.m. The man was transported to Round Rock Medical Center with critical life-threatening injuries.
No further details were disclosed. It's unclear whether the driver remained on the scene until police arrived to investigate.
