North Austin Stabbing Leads To SWAT Call (Updated)
Police were called to the 500 block of Deen Avenue where they found wounded victim; barricaded suspect taken into custody 3 1/2 hours later.
AUSTIN, TX — Police on late Thursday morning were called to the scene of a stabbing in North Austin where they found an injured person before dispatching a SWAT team to deal with a barricaded suspect.
The call came in just after 11:30 a.m. along the 500 block of Deen Avenue. Upon arrival, police found a stabbing victim who was rushed to a local hospital for treatment. The age, gender and condition of the stabbing victim was not disclosed.
By just after 3 p.m., the suspect exited the building where he had barricaded himself before being quickly placed in custody, Sgt. David Daniels told reporters in an impromptu press conference.
