North Austin Streets Reopened Following Arrest
Roadways close to Putnam Drive were closed off not far from Burnet Middle School as police respond to unspecified incident.
NORTH AUSTIN, TX — A pair of North Austin streets were closed late Wednesday morning as police conduct an unspecified investigation at the site that led to an arrest.
Officers were at the scene of the incident at Hearthside Drive and Putnam Drive as of just past 11 a.m. Roadways were shut down near Putnam Drive due to the ongoing investigation, police said.
While not releasing details as to the nature of the incident, police released a description of the suspect, saying the man they seek is a black man standing at about six feet tall with a tattoo between his eyes and on his neck, the latter appearing to be some sort of lettering. By early afternoon, police said a suspect was placed into custody without incident.

In tweeting on the closures, police asked residents to avoid the area. The site is not far from Burnet Middle School, 8401 Hathaway Dr., located across from the police activity.
