🌱 North Texas Ranks High For Food Trucks + Summer 'Pfun' Camps

Here are the top stories today in North Austin-Pflugerville:
- According to a study by LawnStarter, a lawn care service startup company, "North Texas cities claimed many of the top 25 cities... when it comes to food trucks." Out of 99 cities that were ranked, Austin got first place, which is no surprise to food truck lovers! The study was based on factors such as "the number of food trucks per 100,000 residents, the presence of highly-rated food trucks, and the occurrence of food truck festivals." - Pflugerville residents can now register for Summer "Pfun" Camp, and non-residents can register on Wednesday, March 23, starting at 8 a.m. Individuals can register online through CommunityPass, and if they do not have an account, they can create one today. Summer "Pfun" Camp features 10 week-long sessions for children ages 5-15 years old, however, all 5-year-old kids must have completed kindergarten by the time the camp starts. Camp "activities include weekly field trips, active games, swimming, arts and crafts and visits to Pflugerville city facilities." For more information visit: (Press Release Desk)
- The City of Austin announced that the Heritage Park drive-thru COVID-19 testing site in Pflugerville was closing, and its last day of operations was Wednesday, March 16. The Pflugerville site has been operating since Feb. 14," and "this testing expansion was possible thanks to cooperation between Austin Public Health (APH), the City of Pflugerville and Spartan Medical." Health officials are hoping that "the decrease in demand for this facility is a sign of fewer cases." In case you are showing any COVID-19 symptoms, testing is recommended, and there are still other sites in the Austin area where you can get tested.
