Northwest Austin Traffic Fatality Now Viewed As Suspicious Death: Austin PD
The unidentified man in his 30s died after hitting a telephone pole, but police now hint foul play may have been involved.

North Austin, TX -- Police are investigating a fatal traffic crash late Monday as a suspicious death, according to media reports.
The investigation stems from the death of a man in his 30s who was killed on Monday, July 5, in northwest Austin in the 13200 block of the U.S. 183 northbound frontage road near Hunters Chase Drive. The accident occurred when the driver hit a "fixed object," the nomenclature emergency officials typically use to describe a collision with a telephone pole or tree.
Austin-Travis County EMS officials said the victim was a man in his 30s. Medics attempted life-saving measures, but the man was later pronounced dead at the scene.

But now, police are casting a suspicious eye at the incident. While no details were provided, police told the Austin American-Statesman, without elaborating, that they're investigating it as a suspicious death.
Police have not released the victim's identity.
