NORTH AUSTIN, TX -- A pedestrian was struck and killed Thursday night, according to EMS officials.A man believed to be in his 40s or 50s was struck by a vehicle in the 5300 block of North Interstate 35 shortly after 11 p.m., Austin-Travis County EMS officials said. There were no further details available, including whether the driver stayed or the scene or fled. It's also unclear if the pedestrian was legally crossing the roadway or jaywalking at the time of the collision.The roadway was closed for some time in both directions as police investigated the scene.
